Il Palazzo. Italian style personified.

Il Palazzo, the new Italian restaurant in Chelmsford, Essex is the fourth of the same successful family run business.

Having a tried and tested recipe for success in the previous enterprises meant that the owner knew exactly what he wanted in the new kitchen and bar area and approached Grey Simmonds, knowing we were the right company to provide exactly what was needed at the right price and to a deadline.

Working closely with the client to make the wish list a reality, Grey Simmonds designed the bar area to complement the cool, contemporary interior of the restaurant.

The new bar equipment needed to be not only super-efficient, but compact, quiet and attractive in order to fit in with the understated décor. We supplied and installed Halcyon bottle coolers, a compact Maidaid ice machine capable of making 25 kg of cubes a day, a Maidaid C351 undercounter glasswasher machine with an energy saver mode and cycle times of between 70 & 240 secs and a stylish Maidaid Barista espresso coffee machine. This fully automatic, user-friendly model is perfect for busy services and lends that authentic Italian barista-made coffee ambience.

The kitchen was completely refitted with bespoke manufactured stainless steel preparation, cooking and wash up areas.

And of course, no Italian kitchen worth it’s salt would be complete without a top of the range pizza oven!
